The Four Types of Home Maintenance

Home Maintenance Logger  helps you track, schedule, and complete home upkeep tasks while building a detailed inventory of your property's assets, appliances, and repair history. All data stays on your device. No accounts, no cloud, no internet required.

Core Concepts

• Tasks — Maintenance jobs with due dates, categories, priorities, recurring schedules, reminders, and cost tracking.
• Assets — Physical property items and equipment with brand, model, serial number, purchase details, warranty expiry, and repair logs.
• Homes — Properties that scope all tasks and assets. Manage one or many.

Key Features

Dashboard

Time-of-day greeting. Summary cards for new additions/upgrades (count + total value) and repair/maintenance work (count + total spent). Tasks summary card with Upcoming, Overdue, and Completed counts — each tappable. Sections for upcoming tasks (configurable: Next 7 / 14 / 30 / 60 Days), overdue tasks with count badge, and recently completed tasks (configurable display). Pull-to-refresh.

Task Management

• 10 built-in categories: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliances, Roofing, Garden, Safety, Exterior, Interior, General
• Custom user-created subcategories per home
• Priority levels: Low / Medium / High with color coding
• Statuses: Active, Overdue, Completed, Archived
• Tabbed filter: Active | Overdue | Completed | Archived | All
• Detail page, edit page, reschedule flow, completion with log notes

Recurring Tasks

Daily (with configurable N-day intervals), Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual, and Specific Days of Week. Completing a recurring task auto-creates the next occurrence with a new reminder scheduled.

Reminders

Configurable notification time per task via local push notifications. When a recurring task is completed, the next occurrence automatically gets a new reminder. No internet required — uses on-device scheduling.

Asset Inventory

• 10 asset categories: Exterior & Structure, Plumbing Systems, Electrical Systems, HVAC & Climate Control, Kitchen Appliances, Laundry & Utility Room, Bathroom Assets, Smart Home & Security, Outdoor & Garden, Interior Finishes & Fixtures
• Track name, brand, model, serial number, purchase date, purchase value, warranty expiry, notes
• Warranty status indicators: Valid, Expiring Soon (within 90 days), Expired, Unknown
• Category filter chips on the list page
• Separate new additions/upgrades from repair/maintenance work

Calendar

Monthly calendar view with event dots on task due dates. Tap a date to see that day's tasks. Quick-complete tasks directly from the calendar.

Multi-Home Support

Manage multiple properties (House, Townhouse, Flat, Unit, Condo, Villa, Mobile Home, Other). All tasks and assets are scoped to the currently active home. Home selector in the AppBar for quick switching. First-launch onboarding flow to create your first home. Full home management page (list, edit, delete).

Backup & Restore

Full JSON export of all tables plus media files compressed into a zip. Import supports full restore (clears existing data) and merge mode (adds new records, skips existing IDs). Media file paths are remapped during import. Your data is portable across devices.
